Pre-Student Teaching Action Plan
Name: Kathryn Capone

The main concerns identified by my predecessors included:

- Having a job while student teaching is very hard to manage.
- They wished they had gathered instructional materials earlier.
- Developing a professional wardrobe earlier.
- Getting ideas for activities sooner that link with GSEs so you can use them whenever those GSEs are addressed.
- Being organized.
- Not being comfortable with the students/ building by the time student teaching comes around.
- Being too soft so kids take advantage of you.

My main concerns about student teaching at this point are:

- Having enough time to plan the lessons plenty of time in advance.
- Maintaining classroom management
- Being asked a question that I don't know the answer to.
- Not having enough clothes.

My Main Concerns about Student Teaching
Some strategies that I am going to try in order to prepare for Student Teaching:
Planning lessons far enough in advance
Have at least a planning grid for every unit before the Spring. Write the lessons up 2 weeks ahead of teaching it.
Not having enough clothes/ gas/ money to live off of
Work only on the weekends in the Spring, save money, and ask for professional clothes and gas cards for Christmas.
Being asked a question I don't know the answer to
Reading the student's textbook ahead of class and looking at main points, common misconceptions, and
trying to guess and prepare for questions students might ask while I'm teaching.
Maintaining classroom management
Not letting things slide, being strict but fair and consistent, following through with consequences.

I am still concerned about... (and I'm not really sure what to do about this.)

I'm still concerned with having enough GOOD activities and lesson plans and wonder how far in advanced I should plan these and to what extent.
